Emeralds beat the Astoria Ax Men by the count of 8 to 4.

Eugene took the lead for good in the 3rd inning scoring 3 runners on 4 hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Teixeira who deflated the spirits of
the home town crowd when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run
(his 2nd of the season). Eugene had 11 hits for the night.

Kyle Davies(1-0) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Ron Mahay
earned the save, his 1st. Esteban Loaiza(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He
allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.
