Eugene jumped out to the early lead in the first inning as they scored 2 runs
on 2 base hits. Puget Sound threatened in the 9th but Eugene was able to put
down the rally.

Kyle Davies(2-0) went 6 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Octavio Dotel
recorded the save, his 1st. Rick Reed(1-1) was hit with the loss. He was
unable to control the Eugene offense and allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 6

'Some losses are harder to take than others' Puget Sound's manager lamented
after the game. 'This was one of them.'
