Ems Come From Behind to Defeat Hydros

J.R. Towles came up big with a double in the bottom of the 9th to win it for Eugene. The Ems got back in the game with a bases clearing double by Jorge Cantu in the 8th to set up the 9th. Wes Littleton pitched 3 innings only allowing one baserunner to ensure that his team had a chance.

Jorge Cantu had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Civic Stadium as the Eugene Emeralds
won a thriller over the Puget Sound Hydros in, 4 to 3.
 
The game was won by Eugene with a run in the 9th inning.  Matt Lawton drew a
walk.  Jorge Velandia followed and he drew a walk.  J.R. Towles then doubled
giving Eugene the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.  Eugene
banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.  
 
Wes Littleton(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Mike
Trombley(0-1) was the loser in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up
1 hit and 1 walk.
