In a close game it was the Corpus Christi Lightning Bolts 7, the Astoria Ax
Men 5 at J.R. Browning Dome.
Eric Milton(1-0) gave a fine effort for Corpus Christi. He surrendered 9 hits
and no walks in 8 and 1/3 innings and was touched for 2 homeruns. Astoria
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Mike Buddie earned his 2nd save. Adam Loewen(0-1) was given the loss. He
couldn't find the strike zone and allowed 11 walks in 6 innings.
'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Astoria's manager 'But
we have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
