Ax Men Cut Down Emeralds in 6-4 Win




Astoria's Ben Francisco hit 2 homeruns (solo) and so did the Emerald's Mark Teixeira (also solo) in a 6-4 Astoria win.

Ben Francisco blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Astoria Ax Men beat the
Eugene Emeralds by a score of 6 to 4.

Francisco enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty
'big-fly' in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 4th inning and ripped a solo home
run (his 3rd of the season) in the 6th inning. Astoria rapped out 9 hits for
the night.

The victory was credited to Ryan Drese(2-0) who went 8 innings, allowing 4
runs. Dan Wheeler recorded his 1st save. Brandon Backe(0-1) was hit with the
loss.
