Aubrey Huff slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at J.R. Browning Dome as the
Astoria Ax Men belted the Halifax Hurricanes by the count of 23 to 4.

Huff was in a groove all day. He lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run in the 1st inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 2nd of the
season) in the 2nd inning, stroked a base-hit in the 3rd inning and lined a
one-base hit in the 8th inning. Astoria bats were very productive in the 2nd
inning with 6 runs on 5 hits, the 6th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 6
hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 4 hits. Astoria had
many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.

The win was credited to Edinson Volquez(1-0) who went 6 innings allowing 4
runs. Chuck McElroy was credited with his 1st save. Scott Elarton(0-1) was
tagged with the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 1 and 1/3 innings of work.

'I felt great out there today,' Huff said, 'Maybe I should make a regular
habit of getting to bed on time!'
